The room is anchored by a Riva 1920 table made with the wood of a 50,000-year-old Kauri tree, which Levine surrounded with seating for 12. Another seating area with views of the garden was designed for more intimate dining, games, or meetings, and it’s illuminated by a Murano glass chandelier. At the far end of the room, Levine installed a lush purple sofa with cocktail tables, creating the perfect spot for drinks, dessert, or relaxing with a cup of coffee. What the client wanted to do, then, was create a hybrid space that blended past and present, says Angelucci. “When one enters what you’d refer to as the public spaces, you still have a sense of the history of the building.

The designers worked with a color palette of Dunn-Edwards paints, and several chose to highlight the brand’s 2024 Color of the Year, a steely blue called Skipping Stones. Nods to Pasadena’s famous peacocks can be found throughout the designs, and many creators fearlessly brought in statement floors, enveloped their spaces with jewel tones, and added texture to ceilings. Others focused on bringing the beauty of the estate’s gardens and views inside with verdant murals, floral fabrics, and nature-inspired lighting. Clocking in just over 5,000 square feet, this contemporary house plan stands out with not one, but two home offices.
In addition to the house plans you order, you may also need a site plan that shows where the house is going to be located on the property. You might also need beams sized to accommodate roof loads specific to your region. You may also need a septic design unless your lot is served by a sanitary sewer system. Many areas now have area-specific energy codes that also have to be followed.
Then, in back, the kitchen goes full-throttle modern, with contemporary furniture and a striking metal sculpture under the skylight. Yet even here, you find subtle nods to the past in the coffered cabinetry, mullioned sliding doors and detailing in the sofa. When you include the time it takes to find an architect, design the house, get the permits, and build the home, the process can easily take nine months to a year, Laniado says. The architect/design fees are baked into the price, and the company sources materials directly. Producing the buildings in a factory also reduces the amount of labor needed at the job site, says Jeremy Nova, the company’s co-founder. Alternative home-building options can give you more for your money and offer valuable flexibility during the construction process.

The glamorous touches continue in the ensuite bath, where Sabatella added a custom mirror-tiled tub that plays off the vintage French tile floor. Hand-painted floors were the jumping-off point for designer Amy Peltier’s soothing primary bedroom design. “It was so much work, but it turned out beautiful.” The firm wanted the space to feel “light and airy and breezy,” and incorporated fabrics and wall coverings by Thibaut in a soft color palette. Peltier and designer Marina Kelly installed an arch to divide the bedroom from the sitting area, breaking up the large space.
A palette of whites, deep blues, and gold creates an elegant atmosphere in the formal living room, which was designed by Rachel Duarte. The designer established two seating areas within the space, including a cozy gathering spot with chaise longues that flank the original carved marble fireplace. The room’s coffered ceilings were enhanced with a faux-wood decorative painting by Jhon Ardilla. Designer Rachel Scheff used the home’s spectacular ceiling, woodwork, and stained glass as the inspirations for her fanciful, flora- and fauna-filled foyer. “It was one of my favorite rooms in the house because it was the one that had the most history preserved, and I wanted to really celebrate that,” she told AD PRO.

Brad Pitt has once again purchased property on the Central Coast, this time a little further away from Carmel Beach in Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Wall Street Journal reported. 20 least affordable US cities to buy a home are all in California
Actor Brad Pitt has purchased the former home of American businessman and writer D.L. James in the Carmel Highlands of California, The Wall Street Journal reported. After James died in 1944, the house was passed down to James’ son, who was also a writer. James and his wife lived there until he died there in 1988, and the property continued to be known as the D.L. One of their masterpieces is the historic estate that would later become Brad Pitt’s house, which was originally built in 1918 as a summer retreat for the family of American writer and Kansas City businessman D.L.

Brad Pitt’s Carmel house is close to Clint Eastwood’s and Betty White also used to stay nearby. It’s in the same area as the house used to film Nicole Kidman’s character Celeste’s house in Big Little Lies. Brad Pitt is moving into the spectacular house he bought last year perched on a cliff high above the ocean in Monterey County, California. Carmel Magazine is the quarterly lifestyle magazine for Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula, featuring the notable people and places, arts, food and wine, destinations, styles and events of Carmel and the Peninsula. Is Brad Pitt Helping Carmel, California, Make a Comeback?
A historic home perched on a seaside bluff is the latest addition to Brad Pitt’s impressive real estate portfolio, reports the Wall Street Journal. The Ad Astra star, who is something of an architecture aficionado and even narrated the Frank Lloyd Wright documentary Unity Temple in 2020, paid $40 million for the majestic abode, known as the D.L. James House after the American writer who commissioned its design in 1918.
Location and views are generally very important criteria for luxury home buyers, whether the property is situated ocean front or with ocean views, or golf front and with golf views, or with sunny valley and vineyard views. Despite this A-list history, when news broke last week that Brad Pitt purchased a property in Carmel for $40 million, it certainly raised some eyebrows. It’s been a long time since the days of Clint Eastwood’s mayoral stint in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. According to The Daily Mail, the home, aka Seaward (yep, is so fancy that it has its own name), comes with a ton of history.
The actor has been in love with his new Carmel house since the 1990s, and he’s now turning it into his ‘bachelor pad’
Over the years, the Oscar winner has owned residences in Hollywood, Mallorca, New York City, New Orleans and the south of France—where he and his ex Angelina Jolie once shared Château Miraval. Local agents told the WSJ that the $40 million sale is one of the priciest ever closed in the Carmel area. However, the outlet notes that records show that the property was never publicly listed for sale. Pitt lived in the home with his family for years but has since moved north to Carmel Highlands, where he bought a $40-million clifftop castle known as the D.L. Perched on a private knoll near the border of Hollywood Hills and Los Feliz, the property centers on a Craftsman-style house built in 1915. Lush gardens surround the 6,700-square-foot home, leading to outdoor amenities such as a skate park, koi pond and multiple pools.

The house is reported to be about 3,000 square feet, with a service wing for live-in help and a basement-level library on the property. Brad Pitt has reportedly splashed out $40million on a historic home in the celebrity haven of Carmel, California. Charles and his brother, Henry Mather Greene, grew up alternately in Cincinnati, rural West Virginia and St. Louis in the late 19th century. At their father’s urging, the two went to architectural school and ultimately founded the architectural firm Greene & Greene together in Pasadena. The property was constructed around 1918 and designed by American Arts and Crafts movement pioneer and prominent architect Charles Sumner Greene.
Homeless encampments are on the ballot in Arizona. Could California, other states follow?
Betty White owned a beachside home in Carmel up until her death in 2021, according to People. Clint Eastwood even became the town's mayor in a landslide election in 1986 and served for two years. The deal, which was first reported by “Entertainment Tonight,” is one of Southern California’s priciest sales so far this year and one of the biggest sales ever in Hollywood Hills. The neighborhood’s price record was set last year when Michael Rubin dropped $70 million on a property once owned by Ronald Reagan. Lynch shares that Pitt’s recent Carmel Highlands purchase is an architecturally stunning home set in a magical natural setting. “It is great to have the home owned by someone who appreciates the architecture and will no doubt work hard to preserve it for generations to come,” she says.
The historic house has timeless, arched windows with multiple small panels made of timber and steel, which was a prominent feature in the Arts and Crafts movement. The durable tiled roof reflects a Mediterranean influence and California Architecture style and features a tall and wide large chimney with ornately decorated stacks. Pitt bought the house that sits on a cliff-side perch high above the ocean in an off-market purchase that is said to be one of the priciest sales in one of the most sought-after locations in the country. Ritchie, who died earlier in 2022, was the last owner of the property before Brad Pitt bought it.

The Bullet Train star has probably decided to move to Carmel Highlands to experience what semi-retirement looks like. The grand hearth in the family room features classic Arts and Crafts movement elements like handcrafted wood surrounds and patterned tiles. There are also seating areas surrounding the fireplaces which are the central point of the rooms and serve as the house’s emotional center. With age comes wisdom and I have said it before and I say it again, I will take wisdom over youth any day.” ~ Brad Pitt. His midcentury-style, three-story house had terrazzo floors, cantilevered eaves, and beamed ceilings. It’s surrounded by terraced gardens, a skate park, and a pair of side-by-side swimming pools, one round and the other oval. The waterfront house which is on a single floor comes with a simple, handcrafted, and well-designed wooden interior. The D.L James house is decorated with the ageless beauty and elegant quality of carved marble. Brad Pitt’s main residence spans 3,793 square feet and has three bedrooms and four bathrooms.
For Pitt, buying Getty’s elegantly sleek, 2,000-square-foot home is his version of “downsizing,” Architectural Digest also reported. He also owns an 11.5-acre Santa Barbara County coastal retreat he paid about $4 million for in the early 2000s. The actor also has a French chateau known as Miraval, a 1,200-acre property he purchased in 2008 for about $60 million. Pitt, who is known for films like “Fight Club,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” is also reportedly an architecture buff who especially appreciates Craftsman-style homes. So you know he’s not interested in just any slapped-together McMansion. Although Pitt is known to have a few favored architectural styles, he’s particularly interested in the American Arts & Craft style.
Brad Pitt’s headline-making purchase has drawn attention to exactly what made Carmel so interesting in the first place—its gorgeous architecture. For such a small place, it is chockfull of architecturally interesting properties, including a seaside Frank Lloyd Wright home and work from prominent figures of the Arts and Crafts Movement, Greene and Greene. Known as Seaward (also often called the D.L. James House), the sandstone and granite home sits on a bluff in the Carmel Highlands that overlooks the water, according to The Gamble House, an organization dedicated to the architect’s work. The walls were made to look as though they are growing out of the cliffside. The cliffside bachelor pad is a real estate gem with its expressive and aesthetic design. The castle has five fireplaces, a 550-square-foot greenhouse, a 504-square-foot garage, and a 588-square-foot basement.

Charles Greene moved to Carmel around the time he was commissioned to design Seaward where he lived until his death in 1957. The elaborate stonework is featured throughout the property, and it has an intricate layout of rooms with arched windows and a tiled Mediterranean-style roof. The Gamble House also states that as part of the design, Charles "built up the outer walls so that they appear to be growing out of the cliffs". He also designed the property so it would not interfere with nature on the plot of land, with trees and shrubs growing around the home since it was first built.

Brad Pitt Buys $40 Million Historic House on California Coast
The Wall Street Journal reported (paywall) that Brad Pitt paid a whopping $40 million for the century-old home on a bluff in the Carmel Highlands along California’s central coast. Brad Pitt splashed out on a historic $40 million bachelor pad located on the cliffs of Carmel, California. Carmel-by-the-Sea—which is roughly 100 miles south of San Francisco—has long attracted Hollywoods stars.
Doris Day was one of Hollywood’s biggest stars in the ’50s and ’60s, but when she chose to leave behind life on the silver screen in favor of animal rights activism, she chose Carmel as her home base. Before Pitt, the house was owned since 1999 by an LLC linked to Chicago Research and Trading founder Joe Ritchie, who died earlier this year, according to Architectural Digest. It reflects a second 695-square-foot structure built in 1940 consisting of one bedroom and one bathroom. Other attributes on the county document list a total of five fireplaces, a 550-square-foot greenhouse, a 504-square-foot garage, and a 588-square-foot basement. A Monterey County property characteristics record describes a parcel of 2.51 acres that consists of land with two dwellings, the largest being a 3,793-square-foot structure of three bedrooms and four bathrooms constructed in 1914. His main residence though is his multi-house compound in the Los Feliz neighborhood of L.A., which he's owned since the mid-1990s.
The 3,793 square foot main residence has three bedrooms and four bathrooms. A caretaker’s cottage was built in 1940 and features one bedroom and one bathroom. In Carmel, Doris Day owned an 8.62-acre residential property for 38 years, until her death in 2019.

The property was sold off-market to Pitt by Searock, a limited liability company tied to the Ritchies. In 2008, the actor paid $60 million for the 1,200-acre French estate Château Miraval, intending to raise his children with ex-wife Angelina at the winery. His surviving spouse sold the native stone house in 1999 to the late Chicago financier Joe Ritchie, who paid $4.5 million for it, according to Dirt. James Seaward house last year, the 'Bullet Train' actor is ready to move into his Carmel Highlands castle. The D.L. James House is just the latest get in Brad's impressive real estate portfolio.
There’s also a caretaker’s cottage on the grounds of the estate, which was built in 1940 and offers an additional bedroom and one bathroom. Pitt expanded the estate during his two-decade stay, buying four surrounding properties from 1998 to 2009. “Brad has decided that he wants to live a peaceful life going forward and is deciding what ‘semi-retirement’ looks like for him,” a source told Page Six in December. Pitt’s decision to downsize comes as all his children are getting older and his contentious divorce from Jolie reportedly strained his relationships with some of them. The possibility that Pitt could relocate to Carmel has some merit, given the report that he was stepping back from Hollywood after selling a majority stake in his storied Hollywood production company, Plan B. She explains that the Monterey Peninsula features different “micro markets” with personalities and qualities of their own and each market attracts different types of clients and buyers.
An “off-market property” refers to a house that sells without ever being publicly marketed. The seller either advertises the home privately to a select group of potential buyers or negotiates with the buyer directly without ever advertising the property is for sale. James in 1918 by architect Charles Sumner Greene and was later lived in by his son, infamous author Daniel Lewis James, who wrote Famous All Over Town. More recently, the property was owned by Chicago financier Joe Ritchie, who died earlier this year. The Bullet Train star is now the proud owner of the iconic D.L.
While not next-door neighbors, Pitt’s new home is in the same area as the one used to film the home scenes of Nicole Kidman’s Big Little Lies character, Celeste. (The same home was also used in the filming of Basic Instinct.) According to Google Maps, the properties are just a two-minute car ride away from each other. In fact, the BLL home is actually currently for sale as well—for a cool $29.6 million. We reckon he’s enjoying this phase of life as he’s said in one of his famous quotes “Personally I like aging.
The Wall Street Journal first reported the off-the-market deal and noted that the Mediterranean-style castle has a resemblance to that of the medieval fortress where King Arthur was born in Cornwall, England. Pitt’s purchase of the Carmel castle — a century-old, historic estate known as the D.L. James house — marked the most expensive sale in the area’s history. But Brad had big plans (and decades of love) for the property, and he’s making it his main home.
The pair are known for developing their large and stately “Ultimate Bungalows,” which they designed and built mainly in Pasadena. Greene moved his family north to live in the artist colony of Carmel in 1916 and took on the commission of The D.L. James House two years later. Quarried from local stone, the project took approximately five years to complete. The home sits perilously close to a steep and rocky clifftop just meters from the beach and boasts a "wooden aesthetic". It was built from granite and sandstone quarried from the cliffs.

Using the Type Tool (T), you need to select each letter indicated in the following image and lower its font size to 60 px. Once you're done, use the Selection Tool (V) to place this new text roughly as shown below. Make sure that the Ellipse Tool (L) is still active and use it to create a 480 x 145 px shape. Again, use those Horizontal Align Center and Vertical Align Center buttons to center this new shape.
How to Make the Naruto Logo
Now that you're set, let's learn how to draw the Naruto original design logo. In the past, Masashi Kishimoto shared his first drawings of Gaara, and they are not what you might expect. As you can see below, the character traded in his iconic facial tattoo for what appears to be either a scar or birth mark.
A remorseful Saburo then returned to his apartment and painted Symbol before taking his own life. Soon, Kuroda awakes and, to thank Naruto for bringing him home, asks him to join him in a drink. Although Naruto initially protests that he is not old enough to drink, he caves in and begins to drink copiously with the artist. As the two artists freak out at the strange occurrence before them, we see a man in the shadows outside putting a silencer on a gun. Looking at the sketch, fans can see the clear resemblance between Naruto 1.0 and Naruto 2.0. The character may be wearing boots, but his overall costume and haircut are the same.
Naruto uses his demon fox technique to return to his natural nine-tails form. Using his tails, he captures Matsushima and the police arrive to arrest him. Matsushima denies he is guilty but the police tell him to give it up, as the other officer admitted to the crime. Fans may find it hard to believe, but Naruto turns eighteen this year. The franchise was officially created back in 1999 under the guidance of artist Masashi Kishimoto, and Naruto has become one of the world's most popular series.
You can hold down the Shift key as you click and drag to easily create a vertical path. Place it exactly as shown in the first image and add a simple black stroke. Notice how the colors in the gradient can also be found on his hair, clothes, and eyes.
Reviewers praised the manga's character development, storylines, and action sequences, though some felt the latter slowed the story down. Critics noted that the manga, which has a coming-of-age theme, makes use of cultural references from Japanese mythology and Confucianism. Reselect the Ellipse Tool (L), create a 105 px circle, and set the stroke color to blue.
After all, Itachi was going to be different at first in more ways than one. On top of this main style, you also get a rough style, as well as ligatures and swashes. The letters were drawn on hard paper with a thick brush using pure black ink and then turned into this amazing font.
The look was paired with longer hair, and Gaara's outfit was way more difficult to animate than what he ended up wearing. Naruto introduced dozens of ninjas during its run, but there are plenty who stood out. Sasuke brooded enough for the entire Leaf Village but Gaara had that schtick covered in the Hidden Sand. The raccoon-eyed fighter was pretty deranged as a genin after all, and he looked every bit of it. Like all the ninja teams from every village, Team 7 completes missions requested by the villagers, ranging from doing chores and being bodyguards to performing assassinations.
One year, the family had a very special visitor arrive outside their home. This year, he made sure to meet with them ahead of time so that everything could go off without a hitch — quite the opposite of Clark Griswold's many disastrous plans for a fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. They threatened him with fines for setting the display up without a permit, but backed down from the threats when met with community outrage. Norton jokes that he and his wife divorced, not over the Griswold display, but because of his “childlike actions.” He says his daughters love the transformation of the home, but they think he’s a bit crazy.

This year’s design, which includes a faux second story on Norton’s home, was almost canceled by code enforcement, because the addition was unpermitted and deemed unsafe by the southeastern L.A. Despite these problems, the family members work together to revive their former holiday tradition. A year later, we will live an hour away from the empty lot that once cradled our house. I squirmed until my mind adjusted to my new bedrooms, backyard and bathrooms. But through the slow acquisition of new things, this house feels like a warm embrace. In the United States, a home fire was reported every 88 seconds in 2022, according to the National Fire Protection Association. The financial outcome of the fire is contingent on if you were a homeowner or a renter (we were the latter).
Indeed, the couple is in the midst of trying to adopt their first child. One scene has Bennett’s character venting his frustrations with the stressful process; Harder’s character comforts him with optimism about their future. And, of course, such a tough conversation between spouses ends with a reassuring and romantic kiss. We know the fire began in our sunroom and quickly spread while my son, grandmother, husband and I were inside. My virtual yoga instructor watched it all via FaceTime, frozen in horror as she watched the fire’s light and thick black smoke fill my living room. So we’ll never know what exactly caused the biggest change of our lives.

With Thanksgiving on its latest possible date this year, it might be taking you a while to think beyond it to putting up the tree and hanging the lights. To get you in the holiday mood and inspire your own decorating, special seasonal tours through neighborhood homes and landmark residences could well be what you need to start ornamenting your own abode. Okay—popping my Santa’s Little Movie Critic hat back on, because I can also say glowing things about the straight parts of this movie too. Mike and Andi are a charming pair, and watching their lifelong love story unfold via Rashomon style flashbacks had me fully invested in the straights. And, oh my god, the entire storyline with the parents had me in genuine suspense—to a degree that I have absolutely never felt while watching a Hallmark movie.

Hand-beaded light fixtures illuminate the seating areas, which feature tables and chairs from Janus et Cie’s Amalfi Coast outdoor collection. For a bedroom off the nursery, Carmine Sabatella wanted to create a jewel-toned escape. “I thought, if somebody’s taking care of the baby, they have a space where they can come and feel like it’s a retreat,” Sabatella says. The designer outfitted a door handcrafted in India with a vintage mirror to create a one of a kind headboard and bathed the space in deep emerald green.
The glamorous touches continue in the ensuite bath, where Sabatella added a custom mirror-tiled tub that plays off the vintage French tile floor. The event draws more than 25,000 guests each year and offers several dining spaces, including Roe Japanese Fusion, the Tudor Rose Bistro, and Wattle & Daub Tavern.
Norton’s home is on a cul-de-sac, and the entire street is blocked off to allow pedestrians to see the display from the street. The entire display would have been put on hold if he had been forced to disassemble the plastic addition meant to make his home look more like the suburban Chicago house in the 1989 comedy starring Chevy Chase. The entire Mitchell clan is called in to send the Christmas House tradition out in style, including Mike, his brother Brandon (Bennett), and Brandon’s husband Jake (Brad Harder). Also pitching in is Mike’s high school crush (and former magic partner!) Andi (Ana Ayora).
For her Foyer of Enchantment, Scheff installed a custom mural by Hattas Art Studios, a John Richard chandelier dripping with glass leaves, a silk wall covering by Aux Abris, and organic furniture created with Amorph Studio. “I wanted you to feel like you were transported to another time and place,” Scheff says. The Abadie Family’s original Dodger-themed decorations start going up in early November. Just like baseball, it’s a team effort, with the entire family chipping in to bring their Dodger Christmas dreams to life. As the film’s patriarch, Treat Williams brought so much to the role of Bill Mitchell. He played a father figure who loved his sons — straight and gay — and was equally invested in each of their happiness.
